Approach
Emma is flexible and collaborative in her approach, drawing on a range of therapies and approaches according to each client’s specific needs. She works with young people as well as adults experiencing a broad range of different mental health difficulties including anxiety and depression. Emma supports and empowers people to achieve balance, resilience and fulfillment.
Experience
Emma was educated at Oxford University and completed her clinical training atUniversity College London. She has over 20 years experience working with adults,young people and families, within the NHS and private sector. She supports people struggling with a wide range of difficulties including anxiety, stress and worry,depression, and parenting issues.
Within the NHS, Emma has worked within mental health services including the National and Specialist service for complex autism at The Maudsley Hospital in South London. As such, she has a special interest, specialism and over 10 years experience working with people with neurodevelopmental conditions including ASD.
Emma believes in supporting people to access early help and support and was invited to be a member of the Expert Reference Group for Youth Mental Health First Aid in 2017 shortly after it started and is a Mental Health First Aid Instructor. She was interviewed for a TES podcast on the state of youth mental health in UK in 2018.
In addition to providing therapy directly to clients, Emma is also an experienced supervisor and provides training and consultation to a range of mental health professionals. Emma is committed to raising awareness of and reducing stigma surrounding mental health issues, and to helping people to quickly and easily access therapy.
