About me

Claire qualified initially as an occupational therapist and then completed her cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) training. Claire has spent her therapy career working within the NHS and also offering support to patients as a self-employed practitioner. Claire is accredited with the British Association of Behavioral and Cognitive Psychotherapists and a member of the British Association of Occupational Therapists. Claire provides a warm, supportive and non-judgmental space in which people can explore their thoughts, feelings, how they spend their time and their physical experiences. She is experienced in supporting people to reach their own personal goals to enable an improved quality of life. Claire has undertaken a number of roles as a therapist and is passionate about supporting people on their road to recovery. She is able to support individuals in identifying unhelpful thinking patterns and behavior patterns through encouraging a safe space for reflection. Claire has extensive knowledge and experience of treating a range of mental health conditions including depression, worry, social anxiety, phobias, panic, post traumatic stress disorder, obsessive compulsive disorder, health anxiety, medically unexplained conditions, persistent pain and the psychological impact of having a long term physical health condition. Much of Claire's career has focused on treating common mental health difficulties in relation to their physical health. Claire also has skills and experience in offering acceptance and commitment therapy and motivational interviewing.
