Approach

Thomas is a qualified Clinical Psychologist who has received specialist doctorate level training in the psychological assessment, understanding and treatment of mental health problems. He appreciates that many people come to therapy because they are dissatisfied with life, anxious, stressed, troubled by the past or generally unhappy with the direction their life is taking. His aim is therefore to offer a person centred, collaborative approach to therapy where him and his clients think together about the client’s problems, develop shared goals and work towards these goals using evidence based psychological techniques. Therapy can provide an opportunity to work constructively on these difficulties and experiment with changes together at a pace that feels suitable for you. He appreciates that you might also have questions or worries about starting therapy as well, so he is more than happy to talk through any concerns you might have when we first meet. He work with low self esteem, stress, social anxiety, generalised anxiety, phobia, depression, low mood, trauma, PTSD and many other difficulties. His primary training & experience is in delivering Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT). Thomas is a qualified EMDR therapist and have also trained in other therapeutic approaches, including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT).
