Approach
Sarah is straightforward and non-judgemental in her approach. She works collaboratively with clients to identify therapeutic goals, tailoring her approach flexibly to meet the needs of the client at the time, whether that need is for a supportive space to process and make sense of events and experiences, to develop coping strategies or to make more active changes to support wellbeing long-term.
Experience
Sarah qualified as a Clinical Psychologist in 2014 and has since undertaken further specialist training in Neuropsychology, gaining entrance onto the Specialist Register of Clinical Neuropsychologists in 2020. Since qualifying, She has worked in the NHS with clients with long-term neurological conditions or who have experienced a sudden neurological event/injury. She has experience of working therapeutically with issues such as adjustment to a health diagnosis, sudden event or life change and coping with uncertainty, loss, mild-moderate anxiety and low mood, loss of confidence and sense of identity, stress, fatigue, pain, brain fog and other cognitive symptoms, and the impact of health changes on family roles and relationships. Sarah draws flexibly on a range of models, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, mindfulness, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Compassion-Focused Therapy and behavioural approaches, to support clients in navigating and living well with physical health and emotional challenges, in finding ways to re-connect with valued life directions and in maximising wellbeing and quality of life.
