The cornerstone of my therapeutic approach is developing a solid client-therapist relationship, based upon warmth, understanding and respect. This enables me to support clients to apply psychological theory and evidence-based interventions in order to overcome their difficulties.
I am a Chartered Clinical Psychologist accredited by the British Psychological Society (BPS) and a Practitioner Psychologist registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC). I am a member of the BPS Faculty of Complex Mental Health and a registered Clinical Supervisor.
I completed my Psychology Doctorate at the University of Surrey and have over 15 years’ experience working therapeutically with adults experiencing a range of mental health problems, in both inpatient and outpatient settings. I have experience of working with a wide range of therapeutic models and with individuals, groups and families.
Alongside my therapy work I have published clinical research in the area of psychosis, developed national guidelines for NHS psychology services, undertaken several teaching roles and worked as an Expert Witness Psychologist.
At HelloSelf I offer CBT, including 3rd wave approaches such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Compassion Focused Therapy. How I work with individual clients is decided upon together, following a detailed assessment and shared understanding of their difficulties and goals.
