Approach

She is passionate, tenacious and creative, believing that assessment and treatment should always be evidence based and tailored to the individual. Lucy is able to draw upon a range of models for treatments including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Compassion Focussed Therapy (CFT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) and Family and Systemic Theories.

Experience

Lucy is a Chartered Clinical Psychologist, a BABCP accredited Cognitive Behavioural Therapist and Senior Lecturer in Clinical Psychology at Goldsmiths, University of London. Lucy has over ten years’ clinical experience in the NHS working across the lifespan with the whole range of clinical complexity from mild to severe and enduring. Lucy also has significant experience working in the private and voluntary sectors offering consultancy, therapy and coaching - particularly in the finance sector. Lucy specialises in anxiety and mood disorders, predominantly in adults of working age. She has been an NHS Clinical Manager of a high-volume service in North London which affords her being comfortable to assess any and all presentations. She also has specialist clinical knowledge and skills in treating Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder and was Clinical Lead of a Community Trauma Clinic for 3 years in North London.

Prior to pursuing her Clinical Psychology career and after graduating with a First in Experimental Psychology from the University of Oxford, Lucy served as a Metropolitan Police Officer for 7 years. She was selected for the national High Potential Development Scheme and enjoyed a variety of roles including specialist investigation of sexual offences and Counter Terrorism. She achieved the rank of Detective Sergeant. As a result of this she also brings a wealth of experience in diffusing conflict and managing difficult conversations to her clinical work.
