Experience
Freya has over 10 years’ experience across the NHS, private and third sector organisations in the UK. In this time she has worked with a range of clients to support them with a variety of psychological difficulties, challenging circumstances and high pressured situations. She has recent experience in corporate wellbeing, providing clients with support for a range of issues including work related stress, difficulties with mood (depression, anxiety, shame, anger), low self-esteem (‘imposter syndrome’), perfectionism, eating disorders and body image and living with a health condition.
Freya has experience in using the following therapeutic models to treat a variety of psychological difficulties: Cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT); Compassion-focussed therapy (CFT); Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT); Acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT); Motivational interviewing; Narrative therapy; Systemic therapy, Mindfulness and Neuropsychology. At the core of Freya’s practice is seeing each client as an individual, which includes the environments in which they were raised and live in. She is interested in how stress can be stored in the body and the use of psychological approaches to treat this. Her research interest is in the mind-body connection and she has published in this area.
