Having trained extensively in a variety of psychological modalities she uses approaches that suits the clients specific needs to enable them to achieve their therapeutic goals. Thelma has over 25 years of experience working with individuals and couples with diverse emotional, mental and physical difficulties in the voluntary, private and NHS sectors in the UK and abroad. Within the NHS, she currently works as a Chartered Counselling Psychologist, CBT Psychotherapist and team leader at Oxleas NHS Foundation Trust with adults experiencing a variety of moderate to severe mental health conditions. She also is a clinical supervisor and line manager to doctorate Counselling Psychologist trainees and qualified CBT Psychotherapists. Thelma has experience with delivering high-quality, evidence-based therapy to clients with emotional and psychological difficulties, across a range of age groups. Some of the difficulties she has treated include depression, low self-esteem, difficulties with interpersonal relationships, trauma, PTSD, stress management and burnout, work related issues, sleep difficulties, emotional regulation, bereavement, adjustment disorder, marital difficulties and anxiety disorders. Thelma specialises in providing Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Rational Emotive Behavioural Therapy (REBT), Schema Focused Therapy, Reality Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Compassionate Focused Therapy (CFT), Psychodynamic Therapy, Behavioural Couples Therapy and EMDR Therapy.
