About me

My passion for working in mental health has led to over 20 years experience of working within the NHS mental health field. Firstly as a mental health nurse working in forensic and acute mental health settings. I qualified as a CBT therapist 8 years ago and currently work in NHS Talking Therapies Service, previously known as IAPT. I feel I am caring and non judgemental which helps clients be able to open up and explore issues which they may feel it is difficult to talk about with friends or family. I provide a flexible approach to meets clients needs and adapt the CBT models to help clients find a fulfilling and satisfying life. During my time as a therapist I have learnt a lot from my clients and also my colleagues. I also continue in my training, recently qualifying as a CBT Supervisor and Long Term Conditions/Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. This all helps towards constant improvement as a therapist and to be able to provide the most up to date evidence based approaches.
