I’m a trained Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist. I hold full accreditation with the BABCP (British Association for Behavioural & Cognitive Psychotherapies).
Book a sessionMy journey in supporting individuals and families has been extensive and varied, shaped by a commitment to empowering people to overcome challenges and improve their well-being. This path has led me to specialise in Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapy (CBT) and Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), two powerful and evidence-based therapeutic approaches. My foundational experience began in 2007, following my graduation from Northumbria University with a degree in Advice, Guidance, Counselling and Disability Studies. Soon after, I embarked on my career as a Youth Advisor. This role provided me with invaluable experience in supporting individuals facing a wide array of complex needs. I worked closely with young people navigating difficult life circumstances, assisting them in developing essential skills, accessing resources, and advocating for their rights. This early experience ignited a passion for understanding the intricacies of human experience and a desire to provide more intensive and specialised support. Driven by this passion, I pursued further education, culminating in a master’s in social work from Durham University, from which I graduated in 2012. This advanced degree equipped me with a comprehensive understanding of social systems, policy frameworks, and ethical practice, as well as honing my skills in assessment, intervention, and advocacy.
