She has worked with people experiencing a wide range of mental health and emotional issues for the past 30 years. Sarah has trained in a number of therapeutic approaches, and will adapt her style of working according to your own individual needs. Sarah believes therapy should be a unique process where you and she will work in partnership together, towards your own goals, drawing upon the relevant treatment approaches that are right for you. Her approach is based upon enabling you to build upon, and add to your own existing skills and resources, to help you overcome challenges, and guide you towards both recovery and personal growth. Sarah has 30 years of experience, working with individuals facing a wide range of mental health issues and emotional issues, in both NHS and the private sector settings, in both the UK and Australia. Recently she has spent 18 months working with NHS and social-care staff, treating presentations such as trauma, stress and psychological burnout. Sarah has extensive experience in supervising clinicians, including psychological therapists and trainee psychologists. She is also experienced in working in both primary and secondary-care settings, treating a diverse range of presentations including PTSD (post-traumatic stress disorder), depression, traumatic distress, adjustment issues, distress linked to long-term health conditions, interpersonal and relationship difficulties, low self-esteem,substance misuse/addictions, perinatal mental health issues, and specific anxiety disorders including OCD, emetophobia, and generalised anxiety. Sarah is able to draw upon a range of evidence-based treatment modalities, protocols, and approaches including CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy), EMDR (Eye Movement De-sensitisation and re-processing), IPT (Interpersonal Therapy), ACT approaches (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy), CFT (Compassion Focussed Therapy).
