She has worked for a variety of NHS, private and charity services providing assessment, formulation and intervention for individuals experiencing difficulties with depression, anxiety disorders, obsessive compulsive disorder, low self esteem, eating disorders and trauma. She is experienced in delivering both 1-1 and group therapy. In her current role she is working for a NHS talking therapy service providing 1-1 CBT interventions to help individuals overcome the difficulties they are facing. Samiya focuses heavily on establishing a good therapeutic relationship with the individuals she works with. Her approach is patient centered and she provides warmth, empathy, compassion and sensitivity to the individuals situation, feeling and needs. She aims to create a safe and non-judgmental environment. A collaborative approach is employed during all stages of treatment to enable understanding and to work towards therapeutic goals and positive change. Samiya ensures Interventions are tailored and adapted to meet the individual needs of the diverse client groups that she works with. Samiya has a specific interest in body image issues, eating disorders and trauma. She has experience of working with single and multiple event trauma as well as childhood trauma and complex PTSD
