About me

Rumina continues to be passionate about improving access to psychological therapies as well as supporting women in science to fulfil their potential. Rumina joined HelloSelf to explore how technology can improve and enhance the therapeutic process for both clients and practitioners. She is motivated to use informatics to enable the prevention of mental health difficulties in the wider population. Rumina is a Chartered Clinical Psychologist accredited by the British Psychological Society (BPS) and a Practitioner Psychologist registered with the Health and Care Professions Council, UK. Rumina completed her clinical training at the Institute of Psychiatry, King’s College London, before pursuing a joint research and clinical role at the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology, and Neuroscience, King’s College London, and the Maudsley Hospital, South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust. Rumina continues to work at the trust today alongside her role as Chief Clinical Officer for HelloSelf.  She also holds a role in clinical strategy and leadership at King’s Health Partners, an Academic Health Sciences Centre. Rumina has received external recognition for her clinical and service development work and has won a number of awards. Rumina’s research interests lie predominately within psychosis and she has conducted her own research and presented her work at national and international conferences and in peer-reviewed journals. Rumina’s doctorate training and experience to date have given her a firm understanding of the theoretical underpinnings and application of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) for a variety of disorders. She is trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing) and has experience in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and other mindfulness-based approaches. She has completed a post-graduate diploma in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) for psychosis for which she was awarded a distinction. She has worked in private practice for approximately ten years. She has experience of working with clients experiencing a range of physical and mental health difficulties, within both in-patient and out-patient settings, in a variety of different modalities, including individual, group, and couples therapy.
