Approach
As a Counselling Psychologist, Nick’s approach to therapy is an integrative one, drawing on a number of therapies across the Psychodynamic, Humanistic and Cognitive Behavioural traditions in order to adapt to each person he works with and the problems they bring, to help them towards their goals. Nick understands that the decision to begin therapy is not always an easy one, and that a feeling of safety and acceptance in the therapy relationship is very important. As a consequence, his style is calm and empathic to enable you to feel able to explore whatever you need to, and can support you in making changes in your life.
Experience
Having worked in mental health for 15 years, Nick has considerable experience and skills delivering evidence based interventions for a wide range of difficulties, such as depression and anxiety disorders, including trauma, as well as grief, loss, life transitions and relationship issues. Nick has been trained in couples therapy for depression, EMDR and Schema Therapy, so is well equipped to work flexibly with you to help you move forward.
