About me

Lisa specialises in working with individuals and families who are living alongside physical health conditions. She has a specific interest in working with those experiencing health related difficulties, understanding that this can impact upon all aspects of a person’s life - from their psychological wellbeing, to relationships and daily living. Lisa encourages clients to identify their strengths, resiliency and ways of coping, and works together with them to achieve the goals that matter to them. This can include living in a way that fits with the client, despite symptoms or physical challenges. Lisa qualified as Clinical Psychologist in 2006, having previously trained and worked within several NHS Trusts in North East and North West England. Since qualifying she has worked in several private and NHS health care settings (including Great Ormond Street Hospital and King’s College Hospital, London). Lisa currently works as a Consultant Clinical Psychologist at the Evelina Children’s Hospital, London. Through these roles, Lisa has worked as part of multidisciplinary medical teams supporting families and individuals from diverse backgrounds, experiencing a wide range of physical health problems and treatments, including acute health problems, chronic and life-limiting conditions. Her work includes helping individuals in adjusting to, and making sense of new diagnoses, symptom management (including pain management), managing treatment demands, decision making and treatment planning, coping with procedures and associated mental health difficulties (such as low mood, self-esteem or anxiety). Within her private practice Lisa also works with individuals experiencing mental health difficulties. She draws upon a range of psychological approaches in her work, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Systemic therapy (including Narrative Therapy and Solution Focussed Brief Therapy) and uses Clinical Hypnosis.
