Approach
I am a warm and compassionate clinical psychologist who seeks to create and nurture a safe therapeutic space so that individuals feel able to explore and work through the difficulties that they are facing in a meaningful way. I would describe my therapy approach as integrative; whereby, I draw on a number of different evidence-based models so that therapy can be flexible and responsive to differing needs at different times. Alongside this, I believe that the relationship that we have with ourselves is crucial to consider when we are exploring and working with emotional turmoil and distress, and I have particular interests in shame and self-criticism and developing a compassionate self.
Experience
I gained my doctorate in Clinical Psychology from the University of Exeter and prior to this completed an MSc in Mental Health from King’s College, London. Since qualifying as a Clinical Psychologist I have enjoyed working within the NHS in adult mental health community settings. I have been able to work with a variety of mental health difficulties, and have skillfully integrated interventions, as appropriate, in order to meet the complex and individual needs of those seeking support.
