About me

Ella is an experienced Clinical Psychologist and specialist in helping people live well with a range of physical and mental health conditions. She will provide space to listen to your story whilst assessing your needs. You will be able to create an individualised treatment plan together. Ella will help you to understand what is happening in your mind and body and feel more empowered to cope. The treatments she offers are drawn from up-to-date research in line with the latest national NICE guidance. Ella will work with you to address your self-defined goals and she will show you some psychological tools to help you track the changes you are making. She will help you communicate your progress to others as you gain confidence using your new skills. Ella is a Chartered Clinical Psychologist, registered with the Health Care Professions Council (HCPC) and the British Psychological Society. She is also an Accredited Mindfulness Teacher with Breathworks. Ella has been qualified for over 15 years and both worked in the NHS and has had a personal mindfulness practice since 2001. Ella offers Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) to help people with mood difficulties, such as anxiety and depression. She also draws on a range of Mindfulness Based Approaches. Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) for example, is a proven and recommended treatment for people who experience recurrent depression. Breathworks’ Mindfulness for Stress (MfS) and Mindfulness for Health (MfH) meditation practices are designed to help people with pain, illness and stress to deepen self-compassion as they putting new coping skills into practice. Ella has a broad range of experience working with a variety of agencies including teams, individuals across the lifespan and groups in both inpatient and community-based settings. She has worked in different countries, working with local communities to set up clinics. Ella has extensive teaching experience offering training and supervision on health psychology modules at a range of Clinical Psychology Training Courses. Ella can offer specialist support in relation to chronic health conditions such as HIV, Fibromyalgia, CFS/ME and Post-Covid Syndrome. Her most recent NHS post was a leadership role in a busy community adult Mental Health service. More recently, Ella has become interested in psychological trauma, using Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), as well as trauma sensitive mindfulness to help this group of people.
