About me

Mia values working collaboratively with individuals to help them make sense of their experiences, patterns and challenges. She believes in the importance of helping people work towards the things in life that truly matter to them. Most importantly, Mia believes that individuals most often have all the answers within them, and works to help people explore this and use their own strengths to move forward. Mia qualified as a Clinical Psychologist from University of Bath in 2018 and has been working in mental health services since 2013. She has worked with a wide range of individuals, and has enjoyed being able to work creatively with people to help them create a valued and meaningful life. Mia has worked with both adults and young people who are experiencing mental health or wellbeing concerns. In her current NHS role, Mia works with individuals with chronic and acute health conditions, focusing on themes such as adjustment, loss and grief, alongside low mood, anxiety and trauma. Mia also has extensive experience working within private services, with a particular focus on remote therapy in recent years. Her specialism is working with low self-esteem, managing stress and anxiety disorders. Mia draws upon evidence-based therapies and is particularly passionate about Acceptance Commitment Therapy, Compassion Focussed Therapy and Mindfulness-based Therapies. In these therapies, we pay particular attention to understanding how personal experiences and the natural human condition combine to cause ‘stuck points’, and develop compassionate therapy plans to help manage this. Mia is an accredited CBT therapist and has received extensive training in acceptance and compassionate based approached.
