Psychotherapist with 25+ years’ experience, supporting adults with trauma, relationship difficulties, and deeper existential or spiritual challenges, alongside burnout or life transitions.
Book a sessionI’m a UKCP-registered psychotherapist and ACAT-accredited Cognitive Analytic Psychotherapist with over 25 years’ experience working with adults. I work with relationship difficulties, trauma, and existential or spiritual questions that can arise in life, as well as work-related stress, burnout, and life transitions. I began my career in mental health in the late 1990s, training and working as a mental health nurse before going on to train as a psychotherapist within the NHS, where I worked for many years. My core psychotherapy training is in Cognitive Analytic Therapy (CAT), which focuses on understanding how patterns in relationships and behaviour develop and how they can begin to shift. I work integratively, drawing on CAT alongside approaches such as EMDR and Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, depending on what feels most helpful. Where appropriate, I also incorporate somatic and energy psychology approaches such as clinical EFT. These can be very useful for working more directly with the emotional and physiological impact of stress and trauma. My understanding of addiction is shaped both by my clinical work and by long-standing involvement in 12-step recovery communities. For some, therapy also offers space to explore questions of meaning, purpose, or spirituality. While I draw personally from the Catholic tradition, my approach is respectful and inclusive of each person’s beliefs and values. Qualifications and accreditations include: * UKCP and ACAT accredited Cognitive Analytic Psychotherapist and Supervisor * ACEP-trained EFT Practitioner * Trained in TFT - Algorithm and Diagnostic levels * Qualified EMDR Therapist * Sensorimotor Psychotherapy - SP for Trauma * Diploma (Distinction) in Mental Health Nursing
