Psychotherapist with 25+ years’ experience, supporting adults with trauma, relationship difficulties, and deeper existential or spiritual challenges, alongside burnout or life transitions.
Book a sessionI’m a UKCP registered psychotherapist and ACAT accredited Cognitive Analytic Psychotherapist with over 25 years of experience supporting adults, particularly with relationship difficulties, trauma, and the deeper existential or spiritual questions that arise in life. I also work with adults facing challenges such as work-related stress, burnout, and navigating major life transitions. My work in mental health began in the late 1990s when I trained and qualified as a mental health nurse. I later trained as a psychotherapist within the NHS, where I worked for many years. My core training is in Cognitive Analytic Therapy (CAT), a collaborative and relational approach that focuses on understanding and changing unhelpful patterns in relationships and behaviour. Alongside my professional training, my understanding of addiction is informed by long-standing involvement in 12-step recovery communities. For some, therapy may also be a space to explore questions of meaning, purpose, or spirituality. While I personally draw from the Catholic tradition, my approach is respectful and inclusive of each person’s beliefs and values. I have an interest in ADHD and neurodiversity, informed by specialist supervision and by lived family experience. I tailor my approach to accommodate different cognitive and emotional styles. I offer a safe, open space where you can reflect on what matters most to you. I integrate a range of evidence-based approaches — including CAT, EMDR, EFT, Sensorimotor Psychotherapy — and adapt therapy to suit your individual needs. Qualifications and accreditations include: • UKCP & ACAT accredited Cognitive Analytic Psychotherapist and Supervisor • ACEP trained EFT Practitioner • Trained in TFT Algorithm • Qualified EMDR Therapist • Sensorimotor Psychotherapy Level 1 • Diploma (Distinction) in Mental Health Nursing
