Psychotherapist with over 25 years experience, offering compassionate, integrative approach for adults facing anxiety, trauma, relationship and family issues, or challenges with alcohol.
Book a sessionI am a psychotherapist with over 25 years of professional experience, supporting adults facing a wide range of psychological challenges, including anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, trauma, relationship and family difficulties, and issues related to alcohol use and recovery. My work in mental health began in the late 1990s when I trained and qualified as a mental health nurse. I later trained as a psychotherapist within the NHS, where I worked for many years. My core training is in Cognitive Analytic Therapy (CAT), a collaborative and relational approach that helps people recognise and change unhelpful patterns in their lives. CAT continues to shape my therapeutic style through its emphasis on clarity, connection, and compassion. Alongside my professional training, I bring personal insight from my own recovery journey. My involvement in 12-step recovery has given me a deep appreciation for the courage it takes to seek help and the healing power of honesty, support, and shared understanding. These values are central to how I work with clients. For some, therapy may also be a space to explore questions around meaning, purpose, or spirituality. While I draw personally from a Catholic tradition, my approach is respectful and inclusive of each person’s beliefs and values. I aim to provide a safe, open space where people can reflect on what matters most to them. I integrate a range of evidence-based approaches including CAT, EMDR, EFT, Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, and trauma-informed practice, adapting therapy to suit individual needs. Qualifications and accreditations include: • UKCP & ACAT accredited Cognitive Analytic Psychotherapist and Supervisor • ACEP accredited EFT Practitioner • Trained in TFT Algorithm • Qualified EMDR Therapist • Sensorimotor Psychotherapy Level 1 • Diploma (Distinction) in Mental Health Nursing I offer a compassionate, reflective space where people can make sense of their experiences and work toward lasting, meaningful change.
