About me

My approach is to build trusting relationships with my clients in order to understand their experiences. We can then work together to build an understanding of how problems may have developed, what maintains them, and what needs to change. My aim is to enable people to have happier and healthier experiences in line with their life values. I integrate elements of acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), compassion focused therapy and mindfulness into my practice in order to work holistically. I am a highly trained and fully accredited cognitive behaviour therapist. I have worked in adult NHS mental health services since 2004. Prior to this I specialised in working with children and adolescents with emotional and behavioural problems, including identity issues and anger, and those on the autistic spectrum. I have extensive expertise in working with depression and anxiety disorders. My particular passions and specialisms are in working with people with OCD, identify issues, low self-esteem, stress, and older adults, particularly those affected by loneliness or loss. I have personal experience of supporting loved ones who live with many life challenges. I fully understand the impact of mental health problems on the family, and am passionate about supporting carers to help both their loved ones and themselves. Due to my SEN and CAMHS background I have additional skills in working with struggling parents and those on the autistic spectrum.
