About me

Laura is an accredited CBT Therapist with many years experience working within NHS mental health services as a therapist and clinical supervisor to qualified and trainee therapists. She is fully accredited with the British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP). Laura completed her CBT training at the University of Sheffield and has since completed additional accreditation to become a Pink Therapy Gender, Sex and Relationship Diversities (GSDR) Therapist and accreditation in Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT). As a CBT practitioner, Laura has a wealth of experience in clinical settings whilst working in NHS Talking Therapies services across the UK as well as forensic mental health within the prison service. Laura delivers evidence based therapy to clients aged 16 + with a range of emotional or psychological difficulties whilst ensuring a strong therapeutic relationship. Laura can support and guide you to learn how to challenge and break the cycle that is maintaining your difficulties. She works with Generalised Anxiety Disorder, Social Anxiety, Specific phobias, PTSD, Clinical Depression, OCD, Health Anxiety, Low Self-Esteem, Perfectionism, Stress Management and adjustment to physical health conditions to name a few. Outside of clinical practice Laura works as a Clinical Lecturer at the University of Hull teaching CBT at primary and secondary care level.
