About me

Katarina is a London trained clinical psychologist with over 15 years of clinical experience of working in a variety of different settings, including the NHS, voluntary and charity sector, academia and private practice. People with whom Katarina has worked commented that they felt comfortable and safe talking to her from the get go. They appreciated her calm presence though the hard times in their lives, as well as practical tools and compassionate guidance, describing it as a “life-changing experience”. Having obtained her MSc in Psychology in the Czech Republic, Katarina went on to complete a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology at the University of East London. Katarina supports people across age groups and ethnic backgrounds, experiencing a range of difficulties, such as anxiety, depression, OCD, stress, burnout, low-self-esteem, additions including gambling addiction, bereavement, and also those more severe and complex difficulties and trauma. She has a special interest in working with people who struggle to cope with intense emotions and those experiencing relationship difficulties. Katarina can offer both short and longer term therapy. Katarina draws on a number of evidence-based psychological approaches, tailored to the individuals’ specific needs, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Dialectical Behavioural Therapy, Trauma-Focused CBT, Imagery Rescripting, Systemic Therapy, Solution Focused therapy, Narrative therapy, Compassion Focused therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Mindfulness Based Interventions, and aspects of Psychodynamic approaches and Schema Therapy. Katarina has delivered individual, couple, family and group therapy interventions. She also has skills in supporting other professional and non-professional groups through providing consultation, teaching, training and supervision. Alongside her clinical practice, Katarina has been a guest lecturer, teaching on postgraduate Masters and Doctorate programmes.
