About me

Hello and welcome! My name is Ivana, I'm a qualified cognitive behavioural therapist with a wealth of experience in treating various mental health difficulties. (Please see areas I can help you with below.) My clinical practice is informed by a variety of approaches, including person-centred therapy, schema therapy, and third-wave approaches such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT). Additionally, I’m also qualified in providing psychological support in the context of physical health problems such as chronic pain, myalgic encephalomyelitis/chronic fatigue syndrome (ME/CFS), cancer and other long-term health conditions. I work with individuals (age 16+) who experience mental health difficulties or go through a challenging period in their life and find themselves struggling. Embarking on a therapeutic journey can be daunting, that’s why I believe fostering a genuine, warm and caring therapeutic relationship is key. At the beginning of treatment, we will explore the difficulties you are experiencing, including their origins and maintenance factors, and develop a shared understanding of your needs and goals in therapy. I will help you to make sense of your experiences by putting them into context, which will allow us to gain a greater insight and understanding of how to facilitate change. In every step of the journey, I will be there to listen, provide emotional support, validate your experience, appropriately challenge (in a caring way), and motivate you to make changes that matter to you. Psychotherapy is a learning process that continues throughout our life, thus my aim will be to equip you with effective strategies and techniques that will enable you to continue your journey beyond our sessions. As an accredited BABCP therapist, I adhere to the BABCP’s Standards of Conduct, Performance and Ethics in the Practice. I offer therapy in English and German.
