An experienced therapist offering a compassionate, practical approach to complex difficulties. I help you understand your experiences, reduce distress, and build workable ways forward.
Book a sessionI’m a qualified psychotherapist with over 20 years experience supporting people facing a wide range of difficulties, including anxiety, trauma, low mood, self-doubt, and more complex or longstanding challenges. In our work together, my focus is on helping you make sense of what’s going on for you, looking at how your thoughts, emotions, and behaviours fit together, and why things may feel stuck. Often, what people are experiencing makes a lot of sense when we understand it in context. My role is to help you see that more clearly, rather than viewing yourself as the problem. I have trained in and draw upon approaches including CBT, ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy), Compassion Focused Therapy, and EMDR. Rather than applying these rigidly, I tailor therapy to you, looking at what you’re struggling with, what matters to you, and what will actually be helpful in your day-to-day life. A key part of my approach is recognising the patterns that can keep difficulties going, such as avoidance, overthinking, or self-criticism. These patterns often develop as understandable attempts to cope, but can begin to work against you over time. Together, we work on developing more workable ways of responding, building skills that help you handle difficult thoughts and feelings, while moving towards the life you want to live. I aim to offer a space where you feel understood, not judged, and where we can work collaboratively at a pace that feels right for you.
