About me

I am a Cognitive Behavioural Therapist with a background in Nursing and as a qualified Person Centred Counsellor. I have over 20 years experience working in the NHS including in CAMHS, community CAMHS, in education and in the private sector. My therapeutic experience includes working with children and young people, families and adults. My therapeutic approach is rooted in my Person Centred practice with a focus on the importance of the therapeutic relationship and creating a non judgmental space through empathy, acceptance and genuineness. This focus on the relationship and working in collaboration with clients compliments the evidence based nature of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, creating an atmosphere that is conducive to better understanding the link between emotions, cognitions and behaviours and working together towards change.
