Through the development of a respectful and trusting therapeutic relationship, Ben offers individualised, evidence-based interventions to help people address and overcome their difficulties.
Book a sessionBen's approach to therapy draws upon the belief that people’s experiences may be understood against the context of an entire life. Through collaboration and the development of a respectful and trusting therapeutic relationship, he offers individualised, evidence-based interventions in order to help people identify, address and overcome their difficulties. He is a Counselling Psychologist accredited by the British Psychological Society (BPS) and a Practitioner Psychologist registered with the Health and Care professions Council (HCPC). Through an initial detailed assessment, therapy is informed according to a shared and mutually agreed conceptualisation of the difficulties being experienced, thus providing an environment in which achievable goals may be achieved. As a psychologist, Ben has worked in the NHS and charity sectors. Prior to this, he pursued a varied career in the education and music industries. Ben's personal experiences have encourage him to keep an open mind regarding the difficulties faced by individuals and he tailors his approach to reflect this. Ben completed his doctoral studies at the University of Surrey and has 10 years’ therapeutic experience working in a variety of settings with adults experiencing a range of moderate, severe and enduring mental health difficulties. He has a particular interest in early attachment formation and how this influences psychological and behavioural development.
