Book a sessionAntonella is a curious, compassionate, and non-judgemental clinician who aims to build a positive therapeutic relationship with the person or the couple, to help them make sense of their symptoms within their relational context. The work is collaborative, giving priority to what is important for the person. Antonella has trained in Italy and in the UK, and in the past ten years has been working mainly in NHS services, providing care and support to individuals and families experiencing serious mental health difficulties. Antonella has worked in various settings including therapeutic communities, crisis houses, community mental health services, hospitals, and A&E. Antonella has working experience with various therapy modalities and tends to integrate them, using always a frame that sees the person in their specific cultural and family context. Antonella integrates tools and techniques from systemic theories (including Narrative Therapies, Solution Focused Therapy, and Internal Family Systems), psychodynamic and attachment theories (including Mentalization Based Therapies), and Somatic Psychotherapies. When indicated, Antonella can utilize some techniques from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and Compassion Focused Therapy, although these modalities are not her primary therapeutic framework. Special interests and additional qualifications: - Antonella specializes in working with individuals, couples, and families using a systemic approach. - She is also trained specifically to work with complex trauma. - Antonella has a particular interest in transcultural psychology and migration.
