About me

Seeking therapy is a brave and challenging step to take, and it is essential that you match with a therapist who communicates in an empathic, understanding, honest and non-judgmental manner. A solid, collaborative therapeutic relationship is the bedrock of therapy quality, where you can work on sensitive subjects and make the changes required for improved wellbeing. Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Person-centred counselling are my main therapeutic models. I am a BABCP Accredited CBT Therapist, and I am in the process of qualifying as an HCPC registered Counselling Psychologist after attending doctorate-level training on psychodynamic, humanistic and systemic therapy models, as well as third-wave CBT approaches (e.g., Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Dialectical Behavioural Therapy, Compassion-Focussed Therapy). My extensive training and experience have provided me with the knowledge and skills needed to create a trusting and warm therapeutic relationship where you feel safe, comfortable and committed to working on your therapy goals. I approach my work flexibly and creatively and strive to offer a bespoke approach that fits your needs and style. A brief overview of the therapy process: Therapy starts with an assessment phase, which involves information gathering and understanding what brought you to seek therapy. We also tend to consider your expectations and hopes for treatment. I will provide you with relevant resources and information and ask you about past experiences to help understand and consider how past experiences and influences may be linked to current problems. Experience: 15+ years of experience working therapeutically in the NHS with adults (primary & secondary care services, CAMHS) Seven years delivering therapy online (video & typed format) Supervision of CBT Therapists and counsellors Visiting Lecturer - Counselling Psychology Doctorate (CBT and Person-centred modules)
