About me

Aneesa believes that mental wellness should be treated in the same way as physical health, and therapy should be as routine as going to the dentist or seeing a personal trainer. In your initial assessment, she will listen to understand the changes you are hoping to make, understand the wider context of your life, and share her recommended treatment plan. Aneesa does her best to create a non-judgemental, warm, and collaborative space for you to feel comfortable, and regularly invites feedback at the end of every session. She takes an evidence based approach to therapy, having been trained to doctoral level in multiple approaches. She believes strongly in creating personalised treatment plans to fit her clients' unique situations and problems and is against "one size fits all" approaches. Aneesa is passionate about culturally inclusive therapy and has published research in this area. She has also worked as a media expert, collaborating with the BBC. In her clinical work, this means that she embraces talking about your religious faith, cultural background, spiritual beliefs, or experiences of racism or discrimination. As a clinical psychologist, Aneesa has the highest level of training and is experienced in working with the full spectrum of mental health problems using a range of evidence based therapies, including CBT. She has worked in adult mental health, employee well being, and long term health conditions in the NHS in senior level specialist posts. Aneesa also provides clinical supervision to other psychologists and trainees.
