Amy is an experienced Clinical Psychologist, whose focus in therapy is to help you make sense of the difficulties you're experiencing without pressure or judgment.
Book a sessionI am a warm and compassionate Clinical Psychologist with experience of working with a range of difficulties, including anxiety, low mood, work-related stress and burnout, and coping with major life changes and health difficulties. I've worked as a qualified Clinical Psychologist for six years and my primary work has always been supporting individuals who are experiencing physical health difficulties, including those currently on treatment as well as those living with the long term impact of health diagnoses. I also have extensive experience of supporting parents whose children have physical health difficulties. Alongside this, I have a background in staff-support, supporting staff with work-related stress and burnout, particularly those who work in emotionally and cognitively challenging environments. My focus during sessions is to always make you feel heard and understood, without shame or judgment. My appointments will always go at a pace you choose, to give you space to make sense of what you are going through, knowing that your requirements are unique to you. I let you choose the focus and am guided by you. I will always tailor my approach to your needs, but have particular skills in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT) approaches - these models of therapy focus on how we can take care of ourselves when living with challenging circumstances. They help us develop self-compassion and flexibility while also connecting with the experiences and people that matter most to us. I also have a background in CBT, an approach that resonates for some. In our early sessions you and I will consider the type of approach that feels most helpful for you and we can tailor our sessions to this. My appointments typically take place on a weekly basis.
