About me

I’m Amnah Shaikh, a fully accredited CBT therapist with over ten years of experience supporting adults who feel overwhelmed, anxious, low, or stuck in unhelpful patterns. Many people come to therapy feeling exhausted by the pace of life, weighed down by responsibilities, or unsure how to manage constant worry or self‑criticism.

My role is to help you make sense of what’s happening, understand why you feel the way you do, and support you in building tools that genuinely make life feel lighter. You might be struggling with overthinking, burnout, low mood, panic, perfectionism, or a sense that you’re not coping as well as you “should”.

These experiences can affect your confidence, relationships, work, and overall wellbeing.

Therapy offers a space to pause, reflect, and explore what you need, without judgement or pressure. My approach is grounded in evidence‑based Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), but I tailor sessions to your pace, your goals, and your lived experience.

Together, we look at the patterns that keep you stuck, gently challenge unhelpful thoughts, and develop practical strategies to help you feel more grounded, resilient, and in control.

I aim to create a calm, collaborative space where you feel heard, understood, and supported to make meaningful change. Alongside my work with adults, I also have extensive experience supporting children and young people in primary care and neurodevelopmental services, which gives me a broad understanding of how difficulties develop and how to support people at different stages of life.
