About me

I’m Sarah and I’m a qualified clinical psychologist. I’ve worked in the NHS for the last nine years in a variety of mental health and physical health settings. I enjoy working with people who want to make a change and build a better future for themselves. Starting therapy can feel daunting, but it’s the first step to making meaningful changes in your life. Common psychological difficulties that I frequently work with include depression, anxiety, panic, stress/burnout, and adjustment difficulties, among others. I have extensive experience supporting people following a significant injury such as a head/neurological injury, stroke or adapting to life post-injury or with a long-term health condition. Having completed my doctorate in Clinical Psychology some time ago, I am committed to further professional development, and currently pursuing a Masters in Clinical Neuropsychology. In my therapeutic work, I seek to design a bespoke therapeutic intervention to address the challenges a person is experiencing. This intervention is guided by our assessment and how we collaboratively formulate the difficulties a person describes. The therapy models I draw upon include cognitive behaviour therapy, cognitive analytic therapy, and third-wave therapy approaches including compassion-focused therapy, and acceptance and commitment therapy. Sometimes a combination of these is the most useful approach.
