Approach
Sophie’s therapeutic style is warm, empathic and motivational with her aim being to help people to work through their difficulties so they can live a rich and meaningful life in line with their values. Sophie provides quality, evidence-based treatment that is appropriately adapted to the person’s unique context and individual identity, as she understands the importance of inclusivity within the therapy space. Sophie invests in the importance of the therapeutic relationship and is guided by her client’s individual needs, hopes and goals to foster a strong and trusting relationship.
Experience
Sophie is a BABCP accredited CBT therapist and qualified EMDR therapist who has over seven years’ experience working in mental health services within the NHS and private practice. Sophie currently works at the National Specialist Centre for Eating Disorders within South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust. She also runs a private clinic offering 1:1 psychological therapy for those experiencing a variety of mental health problems and delivers group programmes focusing on improving body image and building self-esteem. Throughout her career, Sophie has also held both clinical and managerial roles and is experienced in delivering high quality supervision and is actively involved in service development.
