Approach
Shane uses approaches such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Mindfulness. His current role within the NHS involves delivering a range of therapies within a multi-disciplinary community mental health team, working jointly with a range of professionals (Psychiatrists, Nurses, Occupational Therapists) to help those with more complex mental health problems.
Experience
Shane is a Clinical Psychologist who studied for a BSc Degree at the University of York and went on to complete a five-year Specialist Psychological Practitioner Clinical Psychology Doctorate at the University of Edinburgh. He has 10 years of experience working within the NHS and voluntary organisations. He has worked with a variety of individuals, including those experiencing both mental and physical health conditions. He has worked in Clinical Health Psychology; facilitating the Pain Management Program and working one-to-one with individuals with persistent physical health symptoms (such as pain, chronic fatigue, and fibromyalgia).
