Ekta draws from the core principles of CBT and has developed her own style in helping clients manage their problems in a healthy way. She is an enthusiastic and warm CBT therapist who provides a safe place for clients to explore a wide range of difficulties and alternative coping mechanisms to them.
Ekta has over 10 years’ experience working in mental health in a range of settings. Ekta has previously worked in an inpatient psychiatric facility at the Priory North London as part of the Obsessional Disorders department helping adults and adolescents with severe anxiety disorders such as obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD) , body dysmorphic disorder (BDD), panic disorder as well as personality disorders. Ekta also has experience working with mild to moderate disorders in her current job at Nuffield Health where she provides outpatient therapy to clients with a range of difficulties such as depression, stress, trauma, eating disorders and anxiety.
Ekta holds a special interest in working with children, adolescents and young adults and is trained in EMDR. Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a useful tool that can be used alongside CBT to target traumatic memories. In addition, Ekta also draws from other therapies such as Acceptance and Commitment therapy and Compassion focused therapy to tailor the individual treatment to the client and provide the best possible care.
