About me

I've previously worked within NHS settings, mostly in talking therapy services. I have lots of experience of working with trauma and OCD. My special area of interest is Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). My goal is always to help people live a full, rich, meaningful life. As such, therapy with me includes figuring out what this sort of life looks like for you, what the barriers are, and then thinking about how I can support you to move towards that. Therapy can be incredibly useful for people who are struggling, or just want to know more about themselves or their processes. I'm reminded of the image of 2 mountain climbers. I'm over here, climbing my own mountain, but from where I am, I can see you climbing yours, and because I've got a different perspective, I can see the path ahead of you, potential dangers, and a route ahead. The most important aspect of therapy is the therapeutic relationship. As such, this is an important part of my work with clients. Most talking therapies have an aspect of "doing" to them as well, so I think between session tasks are important, and trying to implement change.
