About me

Hello, I am Meral. You may have arrived at this page because you are wanting to feel different. Reaching out and taking the step to support ourselves in times of need is an act of compassion. Sometimes in times of difficulty the impact of our thoughts, feelings and behaviours can create and maintain cycles that can show up as depression, anxiety or other mental health and wellbeing issues. Together we can explore and make sense of what you may be experiencing and work towards acquiring a deeper understanding as well as adopting tools and techniques to promote self-empowerment, choice and change. Using evidence-based interventions I can work with you to adapt treatments to suit your needs. I am skilled at drawing upon my expertise and experience, primarily in CBT, but often complemented by the other therapeutic approaches. I believe in working with what clients bring and creating a plan together geared towards the change that is wanted. I also endeavour to enable our sessions to inspire you beyond our work to continue to use what has been learned to continue progress and to maintain wellbeing. I aim to create a safe, supportive and judgement free environment in this journey together. I am a BABCP accredited CBT Therapist with experience in delivering Cognitive Behavioural Therapy for individuals 16 years old and above. I am also a qualified Behavioural Couples Therapist for Depression (BCT) and also utilise other approaches such as Compassionate Focused Therapy (CFT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Mindfulness. I have worked in a range of settings providing CBT and mental health support, including the NHS and the third sector. My specialisms include treating anxiety, depression, trauma and self-esteem issues. I can also adapt therapy to work in the context of Physical Health conditions. I am also experienced in working with individuals on the Autism Spectrum and with ADHD. I am experienced in working with Depression, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, Health Anxiety, Panic Disorder, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, Generalised Anxiety Disorder and can work with these individually as well as where two or more of these conditions are present. I am also a qualified Behavioural Couple’s Therapist for Depression and can work with Couples where there may be Depression and or relationship distress present.
