I believe in the importance of promoting healthy relationships and creating positive change on an individual and societal level.
Book a sessionI am holistic, collaborative and person centred in my approach, drawing from a range of theories and treatment models to offer bespoke clinical interventions in line with a client’s identified treatment goals. I adapt and tailor my approach to best meet the clients needs, promoting growth, development and choice, fostering resilience and increased capacity to cope and thrive independently without restriction. I qualified in 2007, completing my Doctorate at Newcastle University and have gone on to develop a range of specialist experiences, mainly working with adults presenting with various difficulties in NHS settings. Prior to this I was working clinically in London, including the Maudsley and Guy’s Hospital and as such have a wealth of diverse and creative experiences working with people from varied backgrounds. I have specific interest and expertise working with eating disorders of varying complexity, up to severe. I am also particularly skilled in treating perfectionism, addiction, relationship issues, narcissistic abuse, self-sabotage and emotional regulation difficulties. My work is trauma informed. I have additional specialist trainings to include mindfulness based cognitive therapy (MBCT), EMDR, compassion focused therapy and group therapy. I have attended and continue to attend a range of CPD events to include ACT, compassion focused work with anger, EMDR for addiction, attachment based EMDR and various specialist eating disorder and trauma treatment approaches.
