About me

Claire is a Cognitive Behavioural and Eye Movement Desensitisation Reprocessing (EMDR) Psychotherapist with experience of working in a variety of mood and anxiety disorders in the NHS and third sectors. Her approach is centred in creating a safe and non judgemental space to collaboratively explore and bring understanding to distress. She uses tools in CBT, EMDR and third wave techniques such as mindfulness, compassion focused and acceptance and commitment therapies to develop strategies and skills to reduce and manage difficulties. Prior to being a therapist Claire trained as a Social Worker, so in addition to her therapeutic training she integrates a child development and attachment perspective into understanding her clients. Her experience in this part of her career was focused in sexual violence and exploitation, providing her with extensive experience working with trauma. She now has a special interest in working with symptoms of PTSD, Low Self Esteem, Health Anxiety, Long Term Health Conditions and Birth trauma
