Dr. Abi Lucas is a Clinical psychologist with demonstratable experience working with children, young people, families and adults. I work with mental well-being and neurodiversity.
Book a sessionI work in a collaborative way with anyone that I see. I aim to support the person to understand their own difficulties and manage them in a way that feels most helpful for them. I use an integrative approach which means I draw on a number of different psychological ways of thinking but ultimately put the person who is struggling at the centre of the work; I support individuals, young people, adults and their families with neurodiversity (e.g. Autism, Asperger’s and ADHD). I have a specialist interest in providing support for those with neurodiversity and offer solution focused, practical ways to manage the challenges associated with this. I deliver a bespoke package including adapted therapies (traditional talking therapies offered in a way which embraces and works with the needs and natural inclinations of neurodiverse people to maximise the benefit of the work). I also offer executive functioning training. Cogmed Working Memory Training (Cogmed) provides an evidence-based program for helping children, adolescents, and adults sustainably improve attention by training their working memory. Cognitive neuroscience, combined with innovative computer game design and close professional support, enables Cogmed to deliver substantial and lasting benefits to clients.
