Approach

I draw on a number of therapy models and approaches including cognitive behavioural models, systemic and integrative approaches to understanding mental health conditions.

The initial consultation is a collaborative process of beginning to think about what brings you to the consulting. It gives me an opportunity to find out a bit about you, your current circumstances, your aims and hopes from therapy. This helps me to begin to understand your presenting difficulties and whether I might be able to help.

It is important for me to hear your own understanding of your difficulties, how they developed over time, and the way they impact you and others around you. The consultation will allow you to have an experience of what it might be like to be in therapy.

At the end of the initial consultation we will discuss the nature of our therapeutic contract, if appropriate.

Experience

I am a Clinical Psychologist working in private practice and the NHS. I have 12 years of clinical experience across a wde range of settings, including mental and physical health.

My specialist interest and training lie within the Psychoanalytic/Psychodynamic Psychotherapy model of work with adolescents and adults, which particularly focuses on the inner world and its influence on relationships and problems. I am an accredited Dynamic Interpersonal Therapy (DIT) Practitioner.
