Approach
Dr Sara Dowsett is an experienced counselling psychologist who primarily uses Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Relational Psychodynamic Therapy to support her clients to understand both their past and present struggles. During therapy Sara works collaboratively with her clients towards their personal goals so that they can leave feeling a greater sense of connection and empowerment in their lives.
Experience
Sara has over 14 years of clinical experience working with individuals with diverse mental and personality difficulties in a variety of clinical contexts within the UK including the NHS. Within her private practice she specialises in the treatment of disordered eating and body image dissatisfaction. She is a certified intuitive eating practitioner and runs an online course and social media channel tackling the issues at the root of the beauty industry. In addition to her therapy work, she regularly administers psychological assessments to assist in treatment suitability for complex mental health presentations such as PTSD. During her career, Sara has also worked alongside client presentations of low-self-esteem; depression; anxiety; emotional regulation problems; trauma; sleep problems, relationship issues, stress management and burnout.
