Approach
Within any therapy the relationship between therapist and client is of utmost importance. Feeling comfortable with your therapist and being able to work together are essential for change to happen. Therefore providing a warm and supportive space where herself and her client can develop an open and collaborative therapeutic relationship is Rebecca’s number one priority. Once Rebecca and her client have developed a shared understanding of the issues her client would like to work on she draws upon a number of therapeutic models most suited to her client’s needs.
Experience
Having provided therapy for over 17 years and completed her Doctorate in Counselling Psychology in 2009 Rebecca has a breadth and depth of experience. She has worked in a range of settings within the NHS, third sector and private practice including mental health, drug and alcohol, trauma and persistent pain services. Her main areas of interest and expertise are in psychological trauma and persistent pain. She is accredited by the British Association of Cognitive and Behavioural Psychotherapists since 2010 and completed EMDR training in 2015.
