Approach

Life is full of folds and unfolds some enriching and others stressful. When we experience life unfold, and we take a compassionate and curious stance, we are oftentimes rewarded in discovering our authentic selves and learn to notice both helpful and unhelpful patterns that strengthen or hinder us. A meaningful life encompasses all our experiences; the ‘good’ and the traumatic. Facing those experiences and ‘getting through them’ can be hard. I like to view therapy as a tool, where we work together to discover your meaning of life, with compassion and curiosity, without any judgement. My therapeutic approach involves engaging in evidence-based practice that is person-centred and flexible to meet your needs and achieve your goals. This involves taking into consideration your age, gender, ethnicity, cultural background, religious beliefs, and all other parts of your identity that make you, you. My priority is placing you at the heart of therapy and my goal is to support you in moving towards a more meaningful and fulfilling way of life.

Experience

I have been practising as a psychotherapist for the past 10 years. I am trained in various therapy approaches and have worked across various populations (ranging from children, adults to older adults). I am trained in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (BABCP Accredited), Behavioural Couples Therapy (PgCert), Systemic Therapy, Systemic Family Therapy (Level 2 Accredited), Schema Therapy, Compassion Focused Therapy, Dialectical Behavioural Therapy etc. I currently work for the NHS (partly in a specialist service for people experiencing a first episode of psychosis, and partly in a children and young-people’s psychological medicine service supporting people who have been diagnosed with cancer). I am also furthering my academic portfolio, completing my final term on the Doctorate in Clinical Psychology Programme. My specialisms involve working with perinatal clients, anxiety disorders (e.g., generalized anxiety, health anxiety, OCD, Social Anxiety, PTSD, trauma), psychosis and schizoaffective disorders, mood disorders (including depression, low self-esteem, and bipolar disorder), eating disorders (Anorexia and Bulimia), and co-morbid physical health difficulties.
