Natalie’s warm and collaborative interpersonal style helps build a strong therapeutic alliance from the first session. Natalie supports clients to understand and normalise experiences that can feel frightening and abnormal, while helping them to identify strengths and resilience to empower them to make positive changes. Natalie has a wide breadth of experience, which enables her to work flexibly and adapt her approach to suit the needs of each client.
Natalie completed a doctorate in clinical psychology, during which she specialised clinically in trauma and focused her academic research on treatments for personality disorder. She has worked in the field of mental health for ten years within NHS, private and third sector services. Natalie has experience of working with individuals across the lifespan (including children and older adults) and individuals with learning disabilities.
Natalie has drawn from a range of models (primarily Compassion Focused Therapy, CBT, ACT, Motivational Interviewing) to support clients ranging from professionals overcoming issues such as work stress, low mood, perfectionism and worry, to clients with severe and enduring difficulties (e.g. PTSD and personality disorder). She also has a great deal of experience treating other conditions such as depression, anxiety, panic, grief, OCD and more.
Natalie has a keen interest in social justice and community psychology. She currently holds a role at a homelessness charity and has previous experience supporting refugees and asylum seekers in the context of PTSD treatment. She has also offered therapeutic options in corporate settings, having held mediations for workplace disputes. In addition to direct clinical work, Natalie has built a skillset in service development and organisational training.
