Approach
I conduct initial psychological assessment to identify common mental health difficulties that meet the DSM-V and ICD-10 diagnostic criteria. I use CBT interventions to treat mood disorders (depression and low self-esteem) and anxiety disorders including social anxiety, health anxiety, panic disorder with or without agoraphobia, obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD), post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), specific phobia, stress and body dysmorphia. I use CBT techniques to support people who may experience co-occurring alcohol/drug difficulties with mood and anxiety disorders. I use EMDR to help people who experience posttraumatic stress disorder. I am able to effectively apply psychological interventions and techniques to meet the personal circumstances of my clients. I am fascinated both by our innately resourceful ability as a species to effectively manage or overcome difficulties and in the efficacy of talking therapies.
