Approach

Lucy uses a Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) framework to support her clients in understanding and overcoming common mental health problems such as anxiety and depression. Lucy works collaboratively with her clients and will tailor sessions to meet her client’s needs and support them to achieve their goals.

Experience

Lucy has worked as a CBT therapist in a range of NHS services including primary care IAPT services, long-term condition services, prison services and most recently, inpatient rehabilitation services. Lucy is accredited by the Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapy Association (BABCP) and has completed further training in systemic therapy, mindfulness and compassion focused therapy.

Lucy has experience working with people from different cultural backgrounds and age groups. She delivers evidenced-based CBT for common mental health problems such as depression, low self-esteem, stress, sleep difficulties and anxiety disorders. She also offers CBT for people with long-term health conditions including diabetes, chronic heart disease, COPD.

Within the NHS, Lucy currently works as a Senior CBT Therapist with adults presenting with severe and enduring mental health difficulties and complex needs including psychosis, bi-polar, complex trauma and personality disorder. Lucy works within a multi-disciplinary team and regularly offers training, consultation and supervision to fellow staff members.
