We may consider therapy due to difficult life events, reviewing our life purpose and when we are challenged by unhelpful thoughts and feelings. Justina is passionate about supporting and empowering her clients to live their life in the way they desire. It can be a difficult journey to explore and achieve this on our own, and Justina applies evidence-based approaches with her clients, working together as a team, to best support individual needs. Justina believes effective therapy is reliant on a good therapeutic relationship, and she endeavours to build trust, respect and compassion in her work, to collaboratively and sensitively work towards personal goals.

Justina is a Chartered Counselling Psychologist, registered with the British Psychological Society (BPS) and Health Care Professions Council (HCPC). She qualified as a Counselling Psychologist in 2016 (DPsych). She practiced as an Integrative Psychotherapist for 10 years prior to completing her doctoral training. Justina has extended her clinical training in evidence-based psychotherapies including Eye-Movement Desensitisation Reprocessing (EMDR), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Trauma-specific approaches ,such as Narrative Exposure Therapy (NET) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (TF-CBT), as well as other mindfulness-based approaches.

Justina has over 16 years of extensive clinical experience working with adults, young people and children, individually and in groups, and worked with couples and families in brief interventions, to enhance the work for the primary client. She has offered brief psychoeducational interventions to those surrounded by the client, such as employers, and has delivered reflective practice in group contexts. Justina has practiced privately, for the NHS, Local Authority, Courts, and National Charities, and helped establish psychotherapy services for some services.

Justina works with a wide range of presentations, and issues, but has specialism in areas such as Anxiety Disorders, Addiction and Personality Disorders. Justina’s therapeutic modality is embedded with Humanistic and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, integrated with suitable evidence-based approaches to support the client’s needs and goals, which remains client-led and collaborative. The pace and shape of the work is guided by the client, as well as readiness and willingness to work towards desired change.
