Jo has worked as a Clinical Psychologist for the NHS and has over 30 years experience of helping adults with a range of mental health and emotional issues. She takes a relational approach helping people with understanding, processing and managing the experience of being in the world of self and others. Jo is warm, patient and approachable. Her methods create a safe space in which to explore fundamental issues such as identity, relationships, fear and fulfilment. She has the skills and experience to take people safely and effectively through what can sometimes be threatening levels of distress. Jo can help people in the process of moving towards fundamental change at their own pace.

More specifically Jo has worked within secondary community mental health services across a number of NHS organisations as a frontline clinician, supervisor and leader. She has worked with moderate to severe difficulties including, anxiety, depression, obsessions, body dysmorphia, trauma, eating disorders and specialising in personality disorder. She has clinically led a personality disorder and an eating disorder service as well as professionally leading a clinical psychology service. Her clinical work draws on a number of approaches ranging from CBT to psychodynamic and she is mostly oriented to relational models. These include attachment and object relations theory including her training in MBT (mentalisation based therapy).
