Jim is a cognitive behavioural therapist and psychotherapeutic counsellor. He offers an empathic and non-judgmental space for clients to explore and understand the challenging emotional and psychological experiences that they may be struggling with. His aim is to help clients make sense of these struggles and to develop pragmatic strategies to cope with them and manage them differently. Initial sessions start with getting to know the client and developing an in-depth understanding of what they are going through. Treatment is then collaboratively built around client needs and preferences.
Jim has a wide range of experience working with clients from a diverse range of backgrounds. He has worked in the NHS, the charity sector, the education sector and within private practice. He is experienced in using evidence-based methods for treating various anxiety and mood disorders, including; panic, generalised anxiety, social anxiety, obsessive compulsive (OCD), phobias, agoraphobia, trauma, depression and low self-esteem.
